What’s left, belongs, survives. (2012-2017, 2019)
It’s 6:32pm and everyone is waiting for the much anticipated meteor landing. But to their surprise it’s about 50 times bigger than they expected and heading straight for downtown. The next day Lawrence, Richard and Mary awake to find the whole city is completely abandoned.
What’s Left, What Belongs and What Survives are a series of graphic novels I worked on over a 5 year period clocking in at approximately 50 pages, 150 pages and 250 pages respectively. Together, the complete 450 page story taught me a great deal about the medium of comics, design and the key elements of long form story telling. I also self published all three printing and selling a couple of hundred copies over the 5 year period, this taught me an even greater deal about the world of self publishing.
Two years later I decided to revisit the project and design more cohesive revised hardback covers for the series complete with a wraparound to hold them all together.
The revised hardback cover designs along with some sample pages from the comic can be seen below.
